What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers the powertrain of the vehicle you're selling, which includes the engine, transmission, and drive axle assembly. We like to call it a “major medical” plan for used cars; if the “heart” stops, we’ll fix it! In the event your buyer experiences a mechanical breakdown, the warranty covers parts and labor expenses, less a $100 deductible, subject to the warranty terms and conditions.
What is the difference between a Limited Warranty and an Extended Warranty (aka Vehicle Service Contract)?
A Limited Warranty is included by the seller of a vehicle free of charge to the purchaser. The seller guarantees the condition of the vehicle according to the limited warranty agreement. Whereas an Extended Warranty (aka Vehicle Service Contract) is coverage that a consumer purchases for their own benefit to help offset mechanical breakdown costs on the vehicle that they own.

Where does the buyer of my vehicle go for repairs?
The buyer can take their vehicle to any licensed auto repair facility (certified ASE, ASA, IATN) of their choosing within the U.S. and Canada for repairs covered under the warranty. Your buyer can use their local trusted mechanic, a national chain, or a franchise dealership, whichever repair facility they’re most comfortable with.

When do I pay for the warranty plan I select for the vehicle I'm selling?
You pay for the warranty plan only once your vehicle has sold.
How should I price my used vehicle?
Do what the auto dealers do — add the total expenses—including the cost of the warranty, classified advertising, detailing, etc.— to the intended sale price of your vehicle. For example, if you’re pricing your used vehicle for $7,500, the total warranty cost is $100 you spend $75 on advertising and $25 at the car wash, you should price your used car, truck or van for $7,700. Keep in mind that the warranty must be included as a condition of the sale of your vehicle, and must be provided to the buyer at no additional charge.
How do I activate my warranty?
Simply login to our website using the username & password you selected during registration. Enter the buyer's information into the activation form presented when you log in and complete the activation process.
When should I expect to receive my custom Sales Acceleration Kit?
Your custom Sales Acceleration Kit is shipped to you for delivery within a few short days of our receipt of your registration.
How do I decide which warranty plan is right for my vehicle?
We will help you select the right warranty plan by recommending an appropriate benefit level that fits the specific vehicle you are trying to sell, but you are always free to choose any of our warranty plans.

Is an inspection required before registering my used vehicle with ForSaleWithWarranty.com?
No. Inspections are optional, and not necessary for warranty coverage. We do require that your used vehicle is currently in sound mechanical condition.
Your buyer simply calls our toll-free number (888) 858-7797 which is also included with the warranty documentation. Our claims adjusters will talk with the repair facility and arrange for direct payment to the auto repair facility for qualified claims.
When does the warranty coverage begin? On what date?
The warranty coverage begins the moment you sell your used vehicle. The date of sale and mileage of your vehicle are used as the starting point for the used car warranty coverage.
What is the warranty term? When does coverage expire?
The warranty term is the coverage duration of the warranty. We simply add the days to the date your car is sold to the buyer. Since all of our warranty plans offer unlimited mileage, it doesn’t matter how many miles your buyer drives the vehicle during the warranty term.
Unlimited mileage warranty? Explain that.
Since all of our warranty plans offer unlimited mileage, it doesn’t matter how many miles your buyer drives the vehicle during the warranty term. For example: Warranties with a 30 day term will expire once 30 days have elapsed from the warranty start date, regardless of the miles driven.
How are claims paid?
Claims are paid by credit card, to ensure that payment is received by the repair facility in a timely manner, and the buyer of your vehicle is back on the road quickly!
Where do I find the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)?
Your VIN is a unique 17-digit identification number for your vehicle. You can find your VIN on the driver’s side dashboard of your vehicle, vehicle title/registration, vehicle proof of insurance, or on a factory sticker located on the inside of the driver’s side door.
Will the warranty pay for a problem that the used vehicle has when I register it with ForSaleWithWarranty.com?
Our warranties are not meant to cover problems that exist with your car at the time you register it with ForSaleWithWarranty.com, including when the vehicle is sold. Such problems are referred to as “pre-existing” conditions, and are not covered. An initial vehicle inspection is not required. However, we do require that your vehicle be in sound mechanical condition when you register it with ForSaleWithWarranty.com and when it is sold.
What do you mean “sound mechanical condition”?
In order to qualify for registration and warranty coverage in the ForSaleWithWarranty.com program, your used vehicle must be in sound mechanical condition. This means that the engine, transmission, and drive axle assembly of your car or truck are all in working mechanical condition, and are free from defects.
Can I have the buyer pay for the warranty?
No. The warranty is included as a condition of the sale of your vehicle, and must be provided to the buyer at no additional charge.
I just sold my vehicle. Now what?
Congratulations! If you haven’t already done so, you’ll need to login to our website, where you will be prompted to activate the warranty. This activates the warranty coverage for the buyer of your vehicle, which puts the warranty in-force for the term you’ve selected.
What am I supposed to give to the buyer of my vehicle?
The Sales Acceleration Kit outlines what you’re to provide to the buyer. Essentially, they’ll need the Warranty Agreement (which you’ll need to activate by logging into our website) and the Warranty Envelope, which provides your buyer with instruction on how to file a claim. And, of course, you'll need to hand over the keys!
Is the warranty coverage renewable?
The warranty coverage is not available for renewal.
How can I be assured that using my credit card with your website is completely safe?
ForSaleWithWarranty.com is secured using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, which ensures that your account numbers and personal data are always encrypted when sent over the internet. What is the warranty's benefit level?
The benefit level is the maximum amount the warranty will pay on approved repair claims for the term of the warranty.
What is the warranty's deductible?
The $100 deductible is the amount the buyer of your vehicle is required to pay for covered claims per repair visit.
How fast will claims be processed for the buyer of my vehicle?
Most of our claims are paid by credit card. Typically, claims are paid within the same day.
How many times can I renew my ForSaleWithWarranty.com registration?
You may renew your registration for your used vehicle as many times as necessary. Keep in mind your registration is good for 12 months. You may sell your car within weeks, but we want to be sure that you have plenty of time to market and sell your vehicle.
Once the warranty is activated, is it transferable in the event the buyer resells the vehicle before the warranty term expires?
No, the warranty is not transferable.
What if the buyer of my vehicle has a break down outside the normal business hours? What are the Emergency Repair Procedures?
In the event a breakdown occurs outside normal business hours, the buyer of your vehicle may, at their own discretion, wish to authorize the necessary emergency repairs. The buyer of your vehicle must have the repair facility contact us the next business day after the breakdown occurs, and prior to any repairs being completed.
